Soulland and LI-NING Offer First Look at Futuristic Running Sneaker Collaboration
Presenting two minimalistic pairs.
Danish stalwart Soulland and the Chinese sportswear company LI-NING have announced that they’ve combined for a sneaker collaboration dropping sometime this fall.
The collaboration brings a modernist approach to running culture, exploring technology, aesthetics and design capabilities with two futuristic yet minimalistic sneakers.
From the teased images shown, you can see elements of both brands. For example, LI-NING’s use of innovative materials and unique sole unit shapes dominate both silhouettes, while Soulland’s often laid-back aesthetic has been used to detail the sneakers. The first sneaker features a large section cut out of its sole unit, as well as a streamlined upper with absolutely no branding, other than the words “Pre – Inter – Post” gracing the lateral mid-panel overlay.
On the second pair, which features a well-cushioned, considerably chunkier sole unit, you can find Soulland branding on the lateral-side strap, as well as the words “Pre – Inter – Post” dotted around the sneaker’s upper.
Silas Adler, Soulland’s co-founder and creative director, has said, “running creates the intersection of freedom, motion, and meditation… of humanity and nature.” He added, “Because of this, the Soulland team was so excited that runners’ culture would be the focus of our first project with LI-NING. Our working together so far has allowed us to explore new design capabilities and forms, making the partnership all the more exciting and dynamic. Simply put, we can’t wait to share more of what we have planned.”
