New Balance's 997H Receives Bright "Team Royal" Highlights
A crisp colorway for the classic shoe.
New Balance‘s 997 model has been given bright “Team Royal” highlights. The new iteration is embellished with a flurry of modern parts while retaining the classic mold of the retro sneaker — CM997HEV. It’s a much more minimal version of the silhouette than the 997S “Marblehead” seen around the start of the month.
The new colorway comes with just four tones — blue, yellow, black and white — in a number of delicate textures and materials. A horizontal “New Balance” patch logo is woven at the top of the tongue, framed by thin gold embroidery over a bed of breathable black mesh. Monochromatic full-grain leather line the upper quarters and sidewalls, allowing the felted blue “N” logo to pop from its smooth underlay. Furthermore, a blue abrasion-resistant panel is placed at the rear quarter, while the forefoot sees a black suede toecap. A sturdy white midsole with subtly embossed branding and a thinly treaded outsole round off the crisp look.
New Balance’s CM997HEV is currently available on Sneaker Politics’ website for $90 USD.
