New Balance 997S "Marblehead" Supplies Subtle and Striking Shades
A lifestyle design fit for all seasons.

Summertime ‘fits call for bright — yet tasteful — colors, so New Balance has served its 997S up in a new “Marblehead” colorway that supplies shades both subtle and striking. Although the 997S is a sport-geared descendant of the transcendent 997, its alternate build and lower price point enable it to stand on its own two feet.
Offering slight shades of Bodega‘s popular “No Days Off” collaboration, the “Marblehead” mixes suede, mesh and synthetics on its upper. Toeboxes, mudguards and quarter overlays all take on the eponymous “Marblehead” hue, with the midfoot base and tongue/throat dressed in black.
The closer you get to the heel, the more the color ramps up. Starting with jeweled midfoot N logos that alternate between jade (lateral side) and purple (medial side) there’s also a red plastic “Motion Control Device” under the center of the shoe, teal mesh around the heel and a dashing branded purple strip running down the throat. Purple Abzorb foam is stuffed in the tan ENCAP midsole, and acknowledged by a heel badge. Finally, a white EVA foam front piece on the midsole and a black rubber outsole round off the look.
New Balance’s 997S “Marblehead” is available now on the New Balance webstore, and retails for $110 USD.
