Following an exploration of fashion and food with MISTERGENTLEMAN, episode two of HYPEBEAST CN’s Breaking Bread sees host Boris Yu dive into footwear with Mihara Yasuhiro of his namesake brand, Maison Mihara Yasuhiro, over a delicately made box of beef and rice at Pavilion, located in Tokyo’s Nakameguro.
One of the first to integrate sports shoes with formal dress shoes, Mihara Yasuhiro is a pioneer of the fashion sneaker. “What impressed me the most is that other than being a successful fashion designer, Mihara Yasuhiro is also a very artistic person,” says Boris. “He often integrates various artistic ideas into the creation of his own brand, including his collaboration with PUMA, and his performance at Paris Fashion Week.”
