Bodega Teases New Balance X-Racer Collaboration
“New utility for a changing world.”

Retail powerhouse Bodega took to Instagram this afternoon to tease its newest footwear collaboration. Following up a Saucony Grid Azura 2000 release back in April, the Boston-based company previews a New Balance partnership that reworks the X-Racer model.
The New Balance X-Racer launched just about a year ago as a retro-modern lifestyle runner that takes inspiration from lesser known ’90s jogger models to create a sleek silhouette. Here however, Bodega puts the X-Racer through an all-terrain makeover, transforming the street sneaker to a trail-ready hybrid sneaker-boot.
There aren’t any details on the exact model name or when they’ll be available, but Bodega had this to say about the collaboration:
The freeform spirit of exploration previously suggested by ‘all-terrain’ is adapted for an age of careful deliberation and collective responsibility with the X-Racer, a streamlined take on the overtly technical, speculative future designs of the late ‘90s and early 2000s. This mixed material approach to adaptable functionality is rooted in a DIY background where ‘essential’ reflects a clarity of purpose, and not a straitjacketing of opportunity. The newest collaborative, Bodega x New Balance project is new utility for a changing world.
