Kanye West and adidas‘s YEEZY QNTM garnered a colossal amount of buzz when it debuted during NBA All-Star Weekend, and now the high fashion meets hoops silhouette is set to make its global retail debut in a “Barium” colorway. Arriving in full family sizes, the “Barium” takes its name from an alkaline earth metal that shimmers in either grey or olive green depending on what kind of light it’s under, and marks the beginning of a bold new chapter for adidas YEEZY.
Uppers are high-cut in traditional basketball shoe style, and split into three defining pieces. The most prominent section of this trifecta is the forefoot and midfoot, which feature a wavy marbled grey exoskeleton above a grey synthetic base and a toe bumper reminiscent of the YEEZY BOOST 700 V2. The throat and collar are made of a black neoprene-style material, the latter of which is bolstered with taped detailing. Finally, the heel provides extra structure with a two-tone grey and silver counter.
Down below, midsoles are made up of semi-translucent rubber and contain a full-length BOOST footbed, visible through a cut-out piece in the heel. Outsoles complete the look with the shoe’s only traditional detail: a wavy herringbone traction pattern.
The adidas YEEZY QNTM “Barium” will release via YEEZY Supply, the adidas webstore and a global network of YEEZY stockists on June 25. Men’s pairs are priced at $250 USD, kids at $180 USD and infants at $160 USD.
