WAVE Taps Technics for Vibrantly Co-Branded Capsule
Featuring a sleek SL-1200 slipmat.

Japanese record store WAVE has teamed up with audio equipment company Technics for a concise graphic-heavy capsule. Founded by Takeshi Osumi and Yuichi Yoshii, WAVE sits on the sixth floor of Tokyo’s Roppongi Hills with an intricate curation of ’80s and ’90s music.
The capsule spans T-shirts, long-sleeves, an iPhone 11 case, a hat and, most notably, a clean black slipmat for an SL-1200 turntable. “Technics” and “WAVE” branding are emblazoned across each piece in the assemblage. The former logo is emboldened on three T-shirts, followed by a tiny box motif of “WAVE” placed directly below. In comparison, the long-sleeves feature similar prints, but with the addition of a brief description of the store placed at the upper left chest. Both the iPhone 11 case and the hat has been rendered in black, matching the same shade as the collectible slipmat.
WAVE and Technics’ capsule will be available on June 24 on WAVE’s website as well as a dedicated pop-up store on the second floor of Shibuya PARCO, ranging from $28 – $75 USD.
