When it comes to summertime dressing, outdoors enthusiasts look for lightweight, versatile and technical garments — three key design points Nike ACG is aiming to provide with its Summer 2020 apparel collection. Drawing inspiration from vintage Japanese hiking gear but grounded in ACG’s colorful roots, the adaptable pieces for men and women are crafted for extended exploration during the year’s warmest days.
Key pieces include the NRG ACG Vest — a utilitarian style with multiple pockets for storage and a lightweight, breathable mesh lining — plus a women’s NRG Bodysuit constructed of sweat-wicking fabric and UV-protective material. Other pieces include lightweight GORE-TEX jackets, versatile cargo shorts and staples like nylon shorts and pants, graphic tees, hats and more. 1992’s ACG Air Deschutz sandal has also been revived in retro colorways.
“Part of the Nike ACG mission is to get more people into the outdoors and appreciate the environment,” says Nike Design Director Nur Abbas. “What’s really exciting about the latest ACG collection is that we have an increase in women’s offerings across the board. As we look ahead to next steps in the Nike ACG journey, we’re excited to bring more people into the beauty of nature through exploration — no matter who you are.” The offerings are also accompanied by several collages that highlight its key pieces in retro fashion, nodding to the line’s genesis 30-plus years ago.
Expect the Nike ACG Summer 2020 apparel collection to begin rolling out on the Nike webstore May 14, with more drops in the following weeks.
