NetherRealm Studios has officially announced Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath, new DLC that will expand on the base game’s original story and include three new fighters: Sheeva, Fujin, and guest character RoboCop.

As shown in the trailer above, Shang Tsung arrives to assist his arch-nemesis following the end of the MK11 where Liu Kang is tasked to create a new timeline for the universe. As for the new additions, Fujin originally debuted in Mortal Kombat 4 and is now making his latest appearance since 2006’s Mortal Kombat: Armageddon. Sheeva originally appeared in the classic Mortal Kombat III and returns following her most recent appearance in 2011’s Mortal Kombat 9. Lastly, RoboCop hails from the slums of Detroit and joins other guest characters like Terminator, The Joker, and Spawn.

The new DLC expansion will also add new stages like an updated version of Dead Pool from Mortal Kombat 2 and the Soul Chamber from Mortal Kombat 3. Friendship finishing moves, comedic parodies of the franchise’s violent fatalities, will also make a return as a free update for those who don’t buy Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath.

Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath will cost $39.99 USD as standalone DLC for MK 11. However, purchasing the Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath Kollection for $59.99 USD bundles the vanilla game, the Kombat Pack which includes previous DLC characters and skins, as well as the new Aftermath content.

Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath releases digitally on May 26, with a physical version slated to arrive in June.

In other gaming news, Microsoft announced a new monthly Xbox 20/20 broadcast to announce new games.
