Justin Gaethje Bests Tony Ferguson at UFC 249
Pulling off a sporting event during the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

Despite backlash, the UFC pushed through to hold its latest event at the VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena in Jacksonville, Florida.
UFC 249 saw a total of 10 fights which culminated in Bantamweight Champion Henry Cejudo defeating Dominick Cruz in the second round and Justin Gaethje besting Tony Ferguson in an all-out war. The Lightweight fight between Gaethje and Ferguson went five-round but saw the NCAA Division I wrestler best the undefeated fighter popularly known as El Cucuy.
Ahead of the event, Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza tested positive for Coronavirus (COVID-19) forcing his fight against Uriah Hall to be canceled. At the end of the night, Dana White awarded Justin Gaethje and Tony Ferguson Fight of the Night, while Performance of the Night went to Justin Gaethje and Francis Ngannou.
