Earlier today, Channel Tres debuted his new “I’m attached (lucy demo)” music video directed by JPEGMAFIA. Now the origins of that collaboration have been highlighted in Peggy’s ninth episode of his documentary series, How To Build A Relationship where he hangs out with Channel to talk about their respective creative processes, psychedelics and first discovering the lineage of experimental hip-hop.
The HTBAR series has been a weekly installment provided by the rapper-producer (and now music video director), giving an intimate glimpse into his creative life and highlighting his friendships with collaborators in interviews conducted during the coronavirus quarantine. Episode 8 found JPEGMAFIA talking to Saba and previewing more unreleased music. He talked to slowthai and Omar Apollo in episode 7. His prolific output has also included his “BODYGUARD!” single, “Millennium Freestyle”, “Covered In Money” and “BALD!”
In HTBAR episode nine, JPEGMAFIA raps over one of his favorite DJ Premier beats while filming an impromptu music video. Watch the full 22-minute documentary above and stay tuned for more from the artist in the near future.
In more music news, mysterious Brooklyn rapper Ka has previewed his new Descendants Of Cain album with his “Solitude of Enoch” track.
