Ron English and 1xRUN Release Limited Edition Prints for Star Wars Day
The artist implements his ‘Grin’ motif on Darth Vader, Stormtroopers and more.
To celebrate Star Wars Day this May 4, 1xRUN enlisted celebrated American artist Ron English for a series of prints inspired by George Lucas’ cult movie franchise. The POPaganda master implemented his signature Grin visual on Darth Vader and a Stormtrooper for two different portraits that are both sized 12 by 12 inches. The series also includes a third print in the same size that portrays the X-wing Starfighter mounted on a church.
One of the standout offerings is English’s Star Wars Guernica. The artwork’s composition is largely inspired by Pablo Picasso’s best known 1937 oil painting, Guernica, that was painted in reaction to the Nazi’s devastating bombing practice on the Basque town of Guernica during the Spanish Civil War.
