Sia Drops New Song "Saved My Life," Co-Written by Dua Lipa
First debuted on a comedy benefit livestream.
After releasing the motion-picture soundtrack “Original” back in January, Sia has shared her second song of the year titled “Saved My Life,” which was co-written by Dua Lipa and produced by Greg Kurstin. The singer debuted the track during the Americares Foundation’s benefit livestream called “COVID Is No Joke” on May 1. All proceeds from sales of the song will go towards Americares and CORE Response’s relief efforts in battling COVID-19.
Hidden behind a light fixture, Sia performed “Saved My Life” from her own home for the livestream event. The stripped down version of the song, featuring only a keyboard, emphasized Sia’s raw, powerful vocals and the track’s uplifting message. The studio version adds instrumentation like piano, drums and bass — all of which were recorded by Kurstin at his studio in Los Angeles — to the livestream take, while Sia’s vocals were recorded in Palm Springs while social distancing. “Someone must have sent you to save me tonight/I know that in darkness I have found my light,” she sings. “I know that in darkness I’ve been given sight/In your loving arms I feel delight.”
“Saved My Life” is available across all streaming platforms now. Check out Sia’s performance of the song on “COVID Is No Joke” at the 59-minute mark in the video below.
In other news, Channel Tres has released a new music video for his song “I’m attached (lucy demo)” with JPEGMAFIA.
