‘Thor: Ragnarok’s Taika Waititi to Direct New Star Wars Film
Waititi will also co-write the feature.

Taika Waititi‘s schedule grows ever more crowded, thanks to an announcement made by Disney on May The Fourth. Along with his two Charlie and the Chocolate Factory Netflix series and Thor: Love and Thunder, Waititi has now been confirmed as the director and co-writer for a new Star Wars feature film.
The movie won’t be Waititi’s first step into the Star Wars universe; the Los Angeles-based creative recently directed the acclaimed first season finale of Disney+‘s The Mandalorian. However, the forthcoming film will be the Academy Award-winning Waititi’s first Star Wars creation to see theatrical release. Waititi will share writing duties with Krysty Wilson-Cairns, a an Academy Award nominee who earned a BAFTA award for her work on 1917
Unsurprisingly, release dates and all other information about Waititi’s entry into the Star Wars canon have yet to be announced.
Meanwhile, other May The Fourth Be With You launches have included limited edition T-shirts, themed Monopoly sets and special Ron English prints.
