Hiroshi Fujiwara has taken to Instagram to show off a pair of fragment design x Nike Air Max 1 samples that he produced under his version of “The Ten.”

“The Ten,” of course, is the inaugural collaborative pack between Virgil Abloh‘s Off-White™ and Nike, which released back in 2017. Nike reportedly tasked both Abloh and Fujiwara to create their own version of “The Ten,” and ever since the Japanese designer’s offering was not put into production he has been treating us to closer looks at what could have been.

fragment design’s Air Max 1 appears in a luxurious light gray suede, and is paired with a black sole unit. A number of elements of the sneaker have been reimagined, adding a technical hiking lace system, an embroidered mini swoosh on the lateral mid-panel, a reworked fragment design-branded tongue tab and a complementing heel pull tab. Elsewhere we see the brand’s signature technical product information stamp placed above the air bubble on the sole unit, while an insole printed with “The Ten” and fragment design’s lightning bolt logo round out the pair.

Take a closer look at Hiroshi Fujiwara’s fragment design x Nike Air Max 1 sample above.
