11-Year-Old Brazilian Skateboarder Lands First-Ever Vert Ramp 1080
That’s three full revolutions.
The world’s first vert ramp 1080 has just been documented. Completing the gravity-defying feat is Brazilian skateboarding prodigy Gui Khury. At just 11 years old, the young skater’s record tops Tony Hawk’s record he set at the 1999 X Games for world’s first vert ramp 900; Hawk was 31 at the time.
Many will also recall the 1080 that Tom Schaar landed in 2012 when he was just 12 years old. While that was also an amazing achievement, it was performed on the mega ramp, a much larger vert ramp structure.
