Air Jordan OG Releases In Classic "Black/White"
A timeless palette for Jordan Brand’s first women’s silhouette.
Originally released in 1998, the Air Jordan OG holds the lofty distinction of being Jordan Brand‘s first-ever women’s silhouette, and now it’s returned in a classic “Black/White” colorway. Following up a well-received Melody Ehsani collaboration and clean in-line styles like “University Blue,” this simple-yet effective makeup continues the legacy of a cult favorite hoop shoe.
Drawing heavy inspiration from the Air Jordan 13 — which debuted the same year — the OG’s high-cut upper uses pockmarked black tumbled leather and white ballistic mesh. This duo is completed with wavy trim lines that provide a trompe l’oeil effect, making it hard to tell where the base layer ends and the overlays begin. In many ways, it’s an inverse of the AJ OG’s inaugural white, black and red makeup.
Jumpman branding is placed on the tongue, midsole, and heel. On the last of these three pieces, it sits above a wavy, women’s-centric crown graphic. A silver plastic shank under the midfoot provides support, with white midsoles and black herringbone outsole completing the look.
The Air Jordan OG “Black/White” is available now via Nike US and Nike Hong Kong, retailing for $140 USD.
Elsewhere in the world of the Jumpman, Hiroshi Fujiwara recently teased a never-before-seen fragment x Jordan silhouette.
