Jordan Brand Brings Back Its First-Ever Women's Sneaker
The Air Jordan OG returns for the first time since 1998.

1998 marked Jordan Brand‘s first official year as a stand-alone entity in the greater Nike lexicon, so to celebrate the brand debuted its first-ever women’s silhouette: the Air Jordan OG. With a wavy, warped look that draws from the Air Jordan 13, the Air Jordan OG’s style was inspired by the world’s finest female hoopers, and now it’s set to return in all its glory with an original “White/Black” colorway.
Constructed of a tumbled white leather, the AJ OG’s toebox shape and dimpled white leather overlays are clear nods to the aforementioned AJ13. However, a fiercely unique pop of style is provided by wavy black omega mesh that surrounds the dimpled leather on both the lateral and medial midfoot. This stark accent is also bordered by thick white trim, making for a clever look that plays with proportions and layers.
Red Jumpman logos are present on the tongue and midsole, while a black Jumpman appears on the heel above an embroidered “W” graphic. The midsole is split equally between white and black, with a silver carbon fiber plate in the midfoot for support. A white outsole with a traditional herringbone traction pattern finalizes the stylings.
The Jordan Jumpman OG will release on Nike SNKRS January 16 for $140 USD. Although it is indeed a women’s release, it’ll be available in an extended size run up to a 13, which translates to a men’s 11.5. A special apparel collection will follow in February.
Elsewhere in the world of the Jumpman, the Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG is set to release in a shimmering “Black Satin” makeup.
