ASICS GEL-FujiTrabuco 8 GTX Appears in Stealthy Black

A monochromatic makeup for the GORE-TEX-equipped trail runner.

ASICS‘ GEL-FujiTrabuco line of trail-centric models has begun a fresh chapter with the new GEL-FujiTrabuco 8 GTX, a silhouette that’s surfaced in an all black colorway. A follow-up to last year’s popular GEL-FujiTrabuco 7, the 8 retains many of its predecessor’s rugged sensibilities but adds its own unique flair as well.

Since this “Black” colorway is completely monochromatic, the new layered, patterned design provides much of the standout detailing. The athletic mesh base is lined with GORE-TEX fabric to ensure resilience to inclement conditions, while jagged rubberized midfoot overlays play up the technical look. Both the mudguard and the heel counter feature similarly sharp lines, with the former equipping a tonal printed mountain graphic and a small GORE-TEX logo hit.

Midsoles provide the most noticeable difference from past GEL-FujiTrabuco models. The standard full-foot GEL cushioning system is still present, but it’s encased in the center of a FlyteFoam cocoon instead of being visible on its outside. A boulder-conquering outsole constructed of durable ASICSGRIP rubber provides a practical finishing touch.

The ASICS GEL-FujiTrabuco 8 GTX “Black” is currently available at stockists like END, with a retail price of $149 USD.
