Kehlani Shares Another 'Quarantine Style' Music Video With "F&MU"
Her new project ‘It Was Good Until It Wasn’t’ releases May 8.
Kehlani‘s first full-length studio project since her 2017 debut SweetSexySavage is right around the corner. The singer-songwriter announced the news on her 25th birthday earlier this week, revealing It Was Good Until It Wasn’t will release May 8 via Atlantic. Today she returns with her latest ‘Quarantine Style’ music video, “F&MU”.
The new visual follows Kehlani and her partner’s daily routine while sequestered at home paired with sensual choreography, a shower scene and a reference to Maybelline. Kehlani has been quick to rollout new self-directed, self-shot music videos throughout the coronavirus quarantine. One could even argue that she set the precedent for doing so ever since she dropped the dimly lit and hazy MacBook camera-shot “Toxic”. She followed that up with another single and video, “Everybody Business”.
“It’s a tale of perspective,” Kehlani stated about her upcoming release. “The sun is shining, the sky is blue, but clearly something has gotten my attention. Paired with the back cover, we come into the question of is the grass really greener on the other side? Good things are good… until they aren’t. Then, were they ever really good?”
Watch the full video above and stay tuned for her sophomore LP next week. In more music news, Record Store Day 2020 has announced it will now take place on three separate days to better align with the coronavirus quarantines and social distancing practices.
