Jean Jullien will unveil a selection of new, escapist paintings as part of Chandran Gallery’s first online exhibition. Entitled “Home Slice,” the digital presentation will feature Jullien’s latest compositions depicting candid moments of everyday life. From spending time with family to exercising at home, the artist offers viewers a painterly outlook into his current thoughts across these vivid compositions.

“In ‘Home Slice,’ Jullien reflects on the essential, underlying themes that frequently arise in his paintings. By capturing moments of time passing in quiet family moments, in the nuanced play of sun and light, and in the slow roll of waves, he shares a deep appreciation for the present moment and his current slice of life,” expressed the gallery in a statement.

The virtual show is an online companion to his forthcoming solo exhibition in New York which will present more paintings of the everyday mundane while touching upon our house-bound lives under quarantine amid the COVID-19 crisis. A percentage of the proceeds from exhibition sales will go to support Fondation de France and heir efforts to assist healthcare workers, researchers and those who are most vulnerable during this ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

View select paintings from the online exhibition above and expect “Home Slice” to launch on Chandran Gallery’s website on April 30.
