Jean Deaux Delivers Hard-Nosed Bars on New Single "Moody!" Feat. Saba
The latest track from the rising Chicago-based artist.

Chicago-based multi-hyphenate Jean Deaux has been carving out her own artistic path for years, appearing on tracks from Smino, Mick Jenkins, Isaiah Rashad, and more, ultimately garnering a cult fanbase that craves her experimental meshing of rap and R&B. Last year she released her second EP titled Empathy, and has now returned with her first single of 2020, “Moody!” featuring fellow Chicagoan Saba.
On the trap-clad track, which features a thumping 808 bassline alongside spacey samples and rattling snares, Deaux continues to showcase her velvety, hard-nosed flow, shelling out subdued bars over daedaePIVOT’s brawling backdrop. Saba comes in on the track’s second half, making for an exceedingly well-placed contrast from Deaux’ whispery delivery.
