Russo Brothers to Produce Live-Action 'Hercules' Remake for Disney
With ‘Shang-Chi’ writer Dave Callaham penning the script.

Disney is developing a live-action remake of Hercules, with reports naming Joe and Anthony Russo of Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame as producers and Dave Callaham of Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings as a writer.
The remake is still in early development and other details, including a director and cast members, remain under wraps. It is also still unknown if Disney will keep the musical elements of the 1997 original to follow a closer retelling of the film, or simply use it as source material similar to their approach in the upcoming Mulan film.
The news comes shortly after a CGI remake of Robin Hood was announced for Disney+. The retelling of the 1973 classic will be helmed by Blindspotting director Carlos Lopez Estrada and will reimagine the characters as anthropomorphic in a similar fashion to Jon Favreau‘s The Lion King.
Elsewhere in entertainment, AKIRA will be free to watch this weekend.
