Converse has officially unveiled its Pro Leather “Through the Decades” pack, which sees the iconic silhouette get three makeovers in reference to the ’80s, ’90s and 2000s.

The archival sneaker has lived through numerous subcultures, such as basketball’s prominence in the 1980s, the rise of hip-hop in the ’90s and the merging of the two, along with skateboarding culture, in the late ’90s and into the early 2000s. As a result, each pair looks to these decades for inspiration, with the sneaker featuring new lacing, retro materials and more.

Converse kicks things off with the ’80s. The Pro Leather here comes in the low-top form and is available in grey-on-black or turquoise-on-white. Premium leather serves as the base for each pair, while an oversized chenille chevron and star emblem graces the side. A gold-toned Pro Leather stamp on the rear-quarter and an off white sole unit round off the pair.

Next is the Pro Leather ’90s. It is inspired by the skate, basketball, and hip-hop styles from the era, and has been given a retro refit. Once again, it appears in premium leather, however, this time around the sneaker features a new ghillie lacing system with rubberized lace locks and contrasting aglets. Elsewhere around the sneaker, you’ll find a fabric-constructed rear-quarter, as well as contrasting elements on the mid-panel and sole unit.

Rounding out Converse’s “Through the Decades” pack is the Pro Leather ’00s, which is inspired by the bold color-blocking and fabrics frequently used in this era. The Pro Leather appears in its high-top form, and combines leather with nubuck along with details taken from the Chuck 70 for a unique finish. Each pair is completed with a gum sole unit.

Take a look at the Converse Pro Leather “Through the Decades” pack in the gallery above. Converse is releasing the Pro Leather ‘80s on April 9, the ’90s on April 10, and the ’00s on April 11 on the Converse website and select retailers worldwide. Pricing ranges between approximately $99 USD to $111 USD.
