'Animal Crossing: New Horizons' Receives an '80s Anime Opening
Complete with VHS static.
Building on the wild success of Animal Crossing: New Horizons, South Korean digital artist Southbig has put together an ’80s anime opening for the game.
Based on the animation style of the 1980s complete with VHS static, the short animation highlights elements that those obsessed with the game will surely recognize. Notables seen in the visual include turnip selling, Nook Inc., Blather’s museum and the Able Sisters shop. The opening repurposes some graphics and the theme song from the Korean version of Maya the Bee.
