Primitive Skateboarding Premieres Moebius and Marvel Comics Capsule Collection
The French cartoonist’s take on classic superheroes appears on various skate-ready wearables.
Primitive Skateboarding continues introducing covetable pop-culture collections, with its latest offering centering around the inimitable legacy of French artist Moebius’s (born Jean Giraud, also known as Mœbius) work for Marvel Comics. A wide variety of wearables and accessories are emblazoned with Moebius lush illustrations of superheros, complete with Primitive co-branding.
Perhaps best known for his work on Heavy Metal, Moebius also worked on concept art for films like Alien, The Fifth Element and Tron. His prolific exploits eventually brought the artist together with writer/editor Stan Lee for a two-part Silver Surfer story, kicking of a series of one-off artworks for both Marvel and DC Comics, sold as prints, posters, calendars and comic book covers.
The new Primitive range emblazons a range of accessible silhouettes with Moebius’ art, including his designs for Spider-Man, The Punisher, Starwatcher, The Thing and Iron Man. Printed atop cozy hoodies, tees and coaches jackets, the goods lend a colorful backdrop for Moebius’ striking art. Stylized Primitive branding recalls the classic Marvel logo, while a script logo serves as a more understated signature. Accompanying the garments is a full range of skate-ready decks, granting uninterrupted emphasis to Moebius’ work.
