Orion Sun has finally dropped off her debut studio album with Hold Space For Me, a mature, deeply personal record that spans 11 tracks of self-produced material featuring widespread influences from hip-hop, R&B, jazz and more. She touches on heartbreak, loneliness, and finding her voice amidst times of haziness and introspection.
Orion Sun first dropped a series of conceptual music videos meant to capture his isolation and independence, first with “Ne Me Quitte Pas”, then with the space-inspired “Coffee For Dinner” and “Lightning.” She described her last single as her own personal version of Marvin Gaye’s “What’s Going On.”
“I definitely got into production because I couldn’t find the exact thing I was looking for, because I couldn’t really put it into words. So going into making music, it really is this thing where I never know what’s gonna happen,” she told HYPEBEAST in a recent interview. “There’s a plan up until sitting down and looking at the screen but I just kind of feel what I’m feeling very intensely and just try to score it pretty much. So if I’m feeling angry there’s definitely going to be some minor chords in there, things like that. For the most part I pull from the music that I love to listen to which is hip-hop, RnB, soul just indie which is alternative rock which is punk rock, experimental music.”
The singer, songwriter and producer took to her Instagram account to write a heartfelt message about her new project. Listen to Hold Space For Me below. In more music news, PARTYNEXTDOOR sat down with HYPEBEAST for a rare interview to talk about his new project PARTYMOBILE and his collaborations with Drake and Rihanna.

i had a dream we were sitting on the floor of an old treehouse and i was showing you the record i made to help heal my tattered heart. we cried and we laughed as we reminisced on older times. like when i ran out of the music room during solo vocal assessments because i was so overcome with anxiety. i didn’t come back until class was over. i never got the chance to tell you in so many words but our conversation after that moment changed my life. i went on to make some music. the kind i told you i wanted to make. i’ve been working on my self esteem. i never knew it would be what it is now but i am so grateful it turned out this way. you shared with me a smooth stone you kept clenched in your fist and told me that the experiences we have are like keys to unlocking parts of our souls. you gave it to me and told me to etch my biggest fears on it. we went by the river and skipped that rock so many times i lost count but i know its the same amount of times you cross my mind. before you left i told you about my friend jericho. i asked you to say hello for me. ive been running from the reaper ever since i got the news. i will never forget him or you. i hope you are proud of me. i woke up with tears in my eyes. i know you are here with me still and im so happy we get to share this moment together with my family and close friends. there has been so much doubt and trials and tribulations that only make this moment feel even more overwhelming and amazing. ‘hold space for me’ is finally out in the world and not just living on my hard drive or in my dreams. its so real. special thanks to @mordecaimoroh for being the best right hand man for this project. much love to u forever. thank u @alexis.m.brown , @momandpopmusic , @visciano_deluxe , @jlaportamasters . thank u to my mom and my beautiful brothers and gannie. finally, we got good luck on our side! good things can happen to us ? thank u to my friends/ chosen family. love you guys. thank u to my muse @djharam . lastly, thank u to my high school music teacher Mr. Traub. thank u for visiting me in my dream last night. im so grateful, i miss you dearly. lets celebrate! hope to see u tonight @ 8pm on zoom. thank u for listening
