'Resident Evil 3' Becomes First-Person Shooter Thanks to Modder
Reminiscent of ‘Resident Evil 7.’
Capcom‘s Resident Evil 3 is mere days from its official release, however, this has not stopped speedrunners and modders alike from picking apart the recently released demo. IGN released a video of the Resident Evil 3 demo with a first-person mod developed by praydog.
The video above showcases various moments from the demo but from a first-person perspective. It’s reminiscent of the 2017 first-person title Resident Evil 7, a game originally meant to bring the franchise in-line with popular horror games like Outlast at the time. That was until the highly successful Resident Evil 2 remake arrived last year. RE 7 also introduced Capcom’s RE Engine, which has been repurposed for the third-person RE 2 and its sequel Resident Evil 3.
Find praydog’s Mod-Framework on GitHub, and Resident Evil 3 when it arrives in full April 3.
