Nike Air Zoom Spiridon Cage 2 Surfaces in Sleek Silver Styles
Speedy red/silver and silver/black colorways.

Nike Sportswear‘s turn-of-the-century classic Air Zoom Spiridon Cage 2 is gearing up for a bountiful spring/summer season, and it’s now appeared in two sleek silver styles. Originally designed by the incomparable Steven Smith — who’s also responsible for memorable models like Reebok‘s Instapump Fury and currently works for Kanye West at adidas YEEZY — the Spiridon Cage 2 is a masterclass in old-school speed, a point that’s driven home by these red/silver and silver/black colorways.
Each pair presents an upper constructed of lightweight mesh, held together by stark metallic silver seams. The red pair mainly uses silver as an accent color, relegating it to the quarter, heel and forefoot, but the silver/black pair offers a top half completely doused in the shimmering shade. Each also equips a bold Swoosh trimmed with black thread.
Down below is where the Air Zoom Spiridon Cage 2 earns its moniker, thanks to a sizable, visible Zoom Air pod at the heel that’s ensconced in a TPU billet for stability. The forefoot opts to keep things minimal with a thin white Phylite foam construction, and each shoe is completed by white laces plus extended pull tabs up top on the throat.
Following up the reveal of two collaborative Stüssy editions and colorful “Saffron Quartz/Pistachio Frost” styles, these Spiridon Cage 2s continue Nike’s run of revitalized runners from the aughts like the Air Max Plus 3 and the Air Max Tailwind V. An official release date has yet to be announced, but you can expect them at global retailers like the UK’s size? and Australia’s Subtype this spring, priced at $200 AUD (approximately $130 USD).
