'Jungle Cruise' Trailer Has Dwayne Johnson on Disney's Iconic Park Ride
Following the footsteps of ‘Pirates Of The Caribbean’ and ‘The Haunted Mansion.’
Disney has released a new trailer for its upcoming adventure film Jungle Cruise, based on the iconic Disney Parks ride and starring Dwayne Johnson alongside Emily Blunt. The film sees Johnson as a “charismatic riverboat captain” and Blunt as a determined explorer on a research mission in the Amazon jungle. The location holds a legendary tree that can heal all, unless they are used by the wrong hands, in which case a great evil descends.
Disney’s Jungle Cruise is the latest theme park to get the feature film treatment. Previously, Disney unwittingly started the successful trend in 2003 with Pirates Of The Caribbean and The Haunted Mansion, respectively. However, it appears the studio plans to apply a new strategy for long-lasting success, parring the acclaimed actress with the highly bankable Johnson.
Jungle Cruise, which also stars Paul Giamatti, Jesse Plemons, Edgar Ramirez, and Jack Whitehall, arrives in theaters July 24.
In other entertainment news, Netflix debuted the first trailer for its Altered Carbon anime.
