Nike‘s bold Air Max 90 Slide has surfaced in a spicy “Chile Red” makeup. Serving as part of the Air Max 90‘s 30th anniversary celebration and following up a trifecta of colorways that released in December 2019, these sweltering slip sandals are an undeniably apt work-from-home option for any Nike Sportswear lover.
If you’re paying homage to the Air Max 90, the most important thing to nail is the heel’s cushioning unit and the foam that surrounds it. Thankfully, that’s the case here: both the boisterous bubble and the rigid red foam that encapsulates it are meticulously replicated. The strap is highly detailed as well, managing to fit a black mudguard-inspired overlay, red plastic window, white embroidered Swooshes and white/red rubberized “tongue badges” onto its limited real estate. This strap’s plush liner, a soft foam footbed and the Air Max unit all work in harmony to ensure a comfortable fit and feel, with an Air Max 90 outsole completing the look.
