MGMT's Latest "As You Move Through The World" Track Spans Over Seven Minutes
From off of the band’s limited edition 12-inch vinyl.
Following their announcement that a 12-inch single would arrive this month after dropping a new song titled “In The Afternoon,” psych-rock band MGMT has unveiled a second song from the record. Entitled “As You Move Through The World,” the mostly-instrumental track spans over seven and a half minutes.
Departing from their usual rock sound, MGMT showcases ambient instrumentals mixed with distant vocals, psychedelic keyboard washes and occasional bursts of disruptive beats. “Everyone knows we all need a 7 and a half minute downtempo ambient instrumental track to listen to while we’re NOT moving through the world,” MGMT wrote via Instagram. The band has had to cancel scheduled shows in Mexico and Texas due to the global coronavirus pandemic.
The song will appear on the B-side of the limited edition 12” vinyl, which is still expected to ship at the end of this month. In the meantime, check out “As You Move Through The World” above.
