Daily Paper Captures Berlin's Multiculturalism in SS20 Editorial
Shot through the lens of all-round creative Chakhani.
Following the release of its Spring/Summer 2020 lookbook inspired by the motto “Nostalgia Meets a New World,” Daily Paper has unveiled its seasonal editorial highlighting the city of Berlin shaped by different lifestyles. The images, shot by Chakhani, reveal a multicultural city where heritage and culture are lived and practiced everyday.
Documenting day-to-day activities, like trips to a Turkish grocery store or playing video games in a Moroccan Sedari room, the editorial reflects on childhood and builds upon the social relationships that develop while growing up — whether it’s with the aunt from the beauty salon or salesman from the vegetable market. Daily Paper highlights the diasporic community in Berlin, initiating a personal journey into identity and culture.
SS20 pieces highlighted in the editorial include all-over zebra print workwear staples and matching sportswear sets in vibrant yellow, “Kentucky Blue” and “Washed Peach.” Elsewhere, a double-breasted blazer and trousers arrive in a striking neon green fabric, while a crocodile-effect faux leather trench coat is paired with matching flared pants.
