Heron Preston has joined forces with vintage clothing designer Sami Miró for a Spring/Summer 2020 collection focused on upcycling and sustainability. Featuring denim pieces taken from Heron Preston’s denim archive, the “Natural Disaster” collaboration speaks to the prevalence of environmental damages caused by global warming and the need for eco-conscious sourcing and reconstruction.

Bold silhouettes kick off the collection: a mesh bodysuit boasts a denim front, a light-washed denim set arrives in a deconstructed silhouette and a black leather dress features a zip-up front and side cut-outs. Miró’s signature patchwork aesthetic is seen throughout the collection, from long sleeve shirts to sweatpants. A highlight of the “Natural Disaster” range is a button-down short sleeve shirt with a denim pocket sewn on its back, which both subverts traditional shirt constructions and utilizes pieces of used garments.

Take a look at the “Natural Disaster” lookbook in the slideshow above. The collection will launch on Heron Preston’s website, at in-store locations and at select retailers.

In related news, Heron Preston dropped rubber-wrapped “Protection” sneakers for Spring/Summer 2020.
