YoungBoy Never Broke Again Introduces New 'Still Steppin, Still Flexin' Mixtape with "Knocked Off" and "Fine By Time"
Including a new music video to coincide with the project announcement.
20-year-old Baton Rouge rapper YoungBoy Never Broke Again scored the biggest year of his young career in 2019 thanks to earning his first No. 1 album with AI YoungBoy 2. Within the expansive 18-tracks, NBA YoungBoy‘s emerging superstardom was on full display with infectious melodies and clear-cut hits like “Make No Sense”. Today, he announces his next major offering with his Still Steppin, Still Flexin mixtape due out February 21, following a gift to his fans: two new singles, “Knocked Off” and “Fine By Time.”
Atlantic Records has also debuted the music video for “Fine By Time,” shot and edited by Karlton Banks. YoungBoy is at his most introspective here, balancing between paranoia, loyalty to his gang, and finding that love takes time. “When I saw she’ll cross me, I damn near lost my mind/ I gave ‘em trust when I saw hate in front my eyes/ God, tell me if it’s love, got me blind,” he raps in heavy auto-tuned melody over Vadebeatz’s soulful piano keys.
“Knocked Off” is another piano-heavy beat produced by TayTayMadeIt with a pace that pushes YoungBoy to be at his most aggressive. “Can’t help you see I’m rich, yeah/ Say the wrong thing and you bent/ We got FN’s and Glock 10s, ten millimeter/ YoungBoy hot and I done broke the meter/ All this money got me blind, I don’t know these people, yeah.”
Stream “Fine By Time” and “Knocked Off” below and be on the lookout for Still Steppin, Still Flexin to drop February 21. In more music news, Roots Picnic 2020 has announced its line-up featuring DaBaby, Meek Mill, Summer Walker and more.
