Samsung and Thom Browne Unveil Galaxy Z Flip Collaboration

During today’s Unpacked event, Samsung unveiled the highly anticipated Galaxy Z Flip phone, along with a special edition of the phone designed by Thom Browne. The Galaxy Z Flip features foldable screen tech similar to Samsung’s Galaxy Fold, however the Z Flip folds the same direction as many nostalgic flip phones into a smaller, compact form factor.

Galaxy Z Flip Thom Browne Edition adds a touch of timeless luxury to the new phone while still maintaining all of the Z Flip’s capabilities. “Partnering with Samsung to create Galaxy Z Flip Thom Browne Edition was an incredible opportunity to reimagine how consumers express themselves through their smartphone,” Browne explains. “We designed Galaxy Z Flip Thom Browne Edition just like I do my collections – with proportion, individuality and aesthetic in mind – to create the perfect blend of art and technology.”
The limited edition phone also comes with a pair of Thom Browne Galaxy Buds+ and a Galaxy Watch Active2, which sit alongside the phone in an elegant box. All three devices feature Thom Browne’s iconic red, white and navy stripe motif on top of a clean pebble grey exterior, along with Thom Browne’s logo – even the earbuds themselves feature the stripes.
The regular edition of the Galaxy Z Flip will be available in the U.S. beginning February 14. Preorders for the Galaxy Z Flip Thom Browne Edition will begin February 14 on Samsung and Thom Browne‘s websites, along with Net-a-Porter and MR PORTER, with a retail price of $2,480 USD. The exclusive phone will officially launch on March 6.
Elsewhere in tech, Instagram reportedly earned $20 billion USD in ad revenue in 2019.
