The Strokes Offer Clones of Themselves in "Bad Decisions" Visual
The second single off their upcoming record, ‘The New Abnormal.’
The Strokes have shared a new single off their upcoming album entitled “Bad Decisions,” released just one week after The New Abnormal‘s lead single “At The Door.”
Accompanied by a music video that looks straight out of the ’70s, the visual features deepfake technology that sees the five-piece starring in an infomercial offering clones of themselves. A woman sits across a TV set, looking visibly bored as she watches the band’s old music videos from the Is This It era. To her enjoyment, her ordered clones appear to perform for her in her room and other households quickly follow suit. The machines, to their horror, end up sparking and self-destructing, possibly reflecting the band’s message that they aren’t “clones” of their older selves and that they’ll continue to musically grow out of the space they first entered in — regardless if people like it or not.
Watch The Strokes’ visual for “Bad Decisions” above, and stream the single on Spotify and Apple Music. The New Abnormal drops April 10.
In other new music releases, BROCKHAMPTON released a tamer “SUGAR” music video.
