The Strokes Drop 'The New Abnormal' Lead Single "At the Door"
Their first full-length album in seven years.
Following the official announcement of their forthcoming album The New Abnormal, The Strokes have shared the LP’s lead single, “At the Door.”
Originally premiered during their set at the Bernie Sanders rally in New Hampshire, “At the Door” sees the five-piece rock outfit treading a more synth-dependent soundscape. Frontman Julian Casablancas puts his vocals front and center for the five-minute track, experimenting with auto-tune similar to his most recent releases with his side project The Voidz. The single’s accompanying music video, directed by Mike Burakoff, follows Casablancas’ themes of freedom and escapism, offering an animated visual that crosses both earthly and other-worldly situations.
