Khalid Teams Up With Disclosure for New Single "Know Your Worth"
The third single from Khalid’s upcoming third studio project.
Khalid kicked off 2020 with the release of “Eleven”, accompanied by a lyric video that paid tribute to 1980’s sports cars with eccentric fonts to match in order to best capture the vibe of some late-night cruising. Now the GRAMMY Nominated singer-songwriter returns with a new Disclosure collaboration in “Know Your Worth” via Right Hand Music Group and RCA Records.
The single comes nearly a year to the day after the worldwide mega-hit that was the trio’s “Talk” burst onto the scene ahead of Free Spirit‘s album release. Khalid previewed the track on Twitter back on January 24, 2020. The song tells the story of staying true to yourself and accepting a more positive outlook to increase your self-worth. Khalid sings, “You don’t know your worth/ All the things I know that you deserve/ Say it’s not real if it doesn’t hurt/ Find someone you know will put you first/ Find someone who loves you at your worst.”
“Know Your Worth” is the third single from Khalid’s upcoming third studio project following “Up All Night” and “Eleven” and finds the R&B star’s opening falsetto floating over soft Caribbean-inspired keys until the bass and drums uplifts on the chorus.
“When I started writing this song, it was like I was singing to myself in the mirror,” Khalid revealed on Zane Lowe’s World Record on Apple Music during the single’s debut. “I feel like the message in this song is something that I needed to hear at the time I was writing it and I hope that it resonates with a lot of people who need to hear that kind of message.”
