One of Japan’s most enduring pop culture heroes is getting a streetwear makeover as WIND AND SEA joins forces with Ultraman for a collaborative capsule.
First introduced by Tsuburaya Productions in 1966, Ultraman has become a defining fixture of Japanese science-fiction entertainment, recognized for its towering silver-and-red hero, extraterrestrial adversaries and elaborate monster designs. The partnership arrives during the franchise’s 60th anniversary year, offering an apparel-focused interpretation of its visual legacy while connecting nostalgic television imagery with WIND AND SEA’s contemporary streetwear identity.
The collection merges classic kaiju and superhero lore with WIND AND SEA’s signature typography and relaxed streetwear silhouettes. Across the lineup, heavyweight graphic hoodies, crewneck sweatshirts, long-sleeve shirts, and casual tees showcase archival imagery of Ultraman alongside iconic kaiju monsters and co-branded retro emblems. Rendered with vintage poster-style prints, distressed finishes, and bold color blocking, each garment reinterprets the vibrant special-effects visuals of 1960s and 70s Japanese television into versatile, daily wardrobe staples.
Reinforcing the cultural narrative and authenticity of the project, the campaign teaser prominently features acclaimed Japanese actor Shiro Sano- widely recognized as a passionate, lifelong devotee of the Ultraman series – bridging vintage science-fiction fandom with modern Tokyo street culture.
The WIND AND SEA x Ultraman capsule collection is set to release on October 31, 2026, and will be available online via the WIND AND SEA official webstore, across the brand’s flagship retail doors in Tokyo and Osaka, alongside select authorized stockists.
