Japanese menswear label SOSHIOTSUKI has unveiled its limited-edition collaboration with ASICS, offering a refined, highly crafted take on the classic SKYHAND OG. Following its initial tease during the brand’s Fall/Winter 2026 runway at Pitti Uomo, official images provided by the brands reveal a sophisticated reimagining of the archival 1990s handball silhouette.
Arriving in a neutral palette, the sneaker is built around a warm cream and off-white suede upper, offset by stark black ASICS Stripes, matching dark laces and a classic gum outsole. The otherwise minimal construction is interrupted by an oversized dark leather tongue, custom-made by artisans in Tokyo’s Asakusa district from Horween Chromexcel leather.
The Chromexcel treatment introduces a finish designed to evolve with wear. Richly infused with oils and waxes, the leather develops a distinctive pull-up effect, producing subtle shifts in tone when bent or stretched while allowing scratches and creases to build into a deeper patina over time. A small KOTA OKUDA logo charm attached to one of the lace eyelets adds a jewelry-like accent, connecting the sneaker to pieces previously used throughout SOSHIOTSUKI’s main collection. Limited to just 50 pairs worldwide, the SOSHIOTSUKI x ASICS collaboration is already available through Kith Tokyo and Kith Manhattan, followed by an October 29 release at 9 a.m. JST through SOSHIOTSUKI’s online store.
