Danny Brown and Run the Jewels Are Back to Cypher for "3 Tearz" Music Video
An intimate affair filmed in a secret NYC warehouse in-front of lucky fans.
Danny Brown is back with a new music video for “3 Tearz,” one of many highlights from his latest studio project uknowhatimsayin¿, executive produced by legendary A Tribe Called Quest founding member Q-Tip and released via Warp Records. For this visual offering, Danny taps Run the Jewels to perform in a secret underground New York City hip-hop battle directed and documented by Colin Read on digital and film formats.
Danny, Killer Mike, and El-P shine over the JPEGMAFIA-produced instrumental which frees the trio up to deliver some of the wittiest bars of late-2019 and to remind everyone of their respective verbal prowess as elder-statesmen in the hip-hop game.
The “3 Tearz” music video follows the legendary Detroit rapper’s floral Detroit homage in “Best Life” and his turn as an alcoholic taxi driver in airing out his “Dirty Laundry” featuring some familiar New York City Lower Eastside faces. Mirmade production company and producer Miranda Kahn enlisted Kevin Hayden as Director of Photography with countless cameras capturing the trio in fisheye, choppy and grainy VHS-footage and scans the crowd reciting nearly every lyric verbatim. It’s a simple, celebratory affair that wraps up with the rappers sharing champagne with the audience in paper cups. Now we patiently wait for Run The Jewels 4, releasing sometime this year.
Danny will also be partaking in the upcoming European leg of his ongoing uknowhatimsayin¿ tour in March and April with tickets available via his official website.
