CELINE Spotlights Crystal Jewelry & Accessories in FW20 Collection
In collaboration with Fondation César.
After recently unveiling its “Portrait of a Performer” menswear campaign for Spring/Summer 2020, CELINE has presented its Fall/Winter 2020 collection centered around crystals. Chosen by Hedi Slimane for their meaning and beauty, amethyst, star mica, rock crystal and more accent seasonal pieces in the form of rings, cuffs, necklaces and pins.
Alongside the Cristaux jewelry is a limited edition line of 100 vermeil and silver pieces edited by CELINE in collaboration with Fondation César. Sculptor César Baldaccini collected and used found objects and materials to make his sculptures. In 1971, he began collecting old jewelry and tokens, compressing them into totemic forms and symbolic pendants that hung on leather cords or chains. For the collaboration, the jewelry pieces serves as talismans of strength and reassurance, regardless of gender.
Ruffled shirts, gingham capes, velvet jackets and fur vests take the stage, finished off with large-brimmed hats, neckties and belts. Sparkling knee-length dresses evoke the multifaceted surfaces of crystals, while studded jackets, bejeweled shirts and gold detailing throughout highlight the unique characteristics of the FW20 jewelry pieces and accessories.
