After 25 years, adidas‘s Predator boot line has left an everlasting stamp on the world of fútbol, so the Three Stripes is paying homage to its iconic models from years past with a new Predator Archive. Offering a “What The”-style look that combines details spanning the line’s quarter-century of existence, the Predator Archive is a lifestyle-geared design that’s still more than ready for action on the pitch.
Uppers are thin yet durable, composed of a Primeknit sock that’s black on the right foot and red on the left. Both of these snug base layers are quickly overlaid with multiple leather panels that are vastly divergent from left to right. Each of these pieces offers a separate nod to Predator models like the Absolute, Mania, PowerSwerve, Rapier, Pulse, LZ, X, Instinct and more.
Some semblance of order is provided by an aqua blue leather that commands a great deal of real estate on each side, and a medley of striped graphics provide an exercise in conceptual branding. UltraBOOST-esque white BOOST midsoles ensure top-tier casual comfort, and two-tone rubber outsoles with disc traction patterns complete the look.
The adidas Predator Archive is available now on the adidas webstore, and — much like the expensive boots it’s inspired by — is accompanied by a handsome retail price: $250 USD.
