Nike is celebrating its foundational roots with the upcoming release of the Air Force 1 Low ‘01 “Shoe Dog”. The special-edition lifestyle sneaker serves as a direct nod to co-founder Phil Knight‘s early days selling imported running shoes out of the trunk of his car before the global sportswear brand officially existed.
The colorway pulls direct inspiration from Knight’s classic green Plymouth Valiant, featuring a mix of Metallic Silver panels and vibrant Pear green accents across the laces, outsoles, and sockliners. Elevating the premium feel, the interior is finished with a smooth, satin-like material, while retro-style serif branding lands on the tongue and heel tabs to deliver an authentic, old-school aesthetic.
Further personalizing the tribute, the metallic lace dubraes come stamped with “PK” initials to clearly mark the Phil Knight connection. Structurally, the pair utilizes Nike’s updated Air Force 1 ’01 tooling. This modified construction offers a slightly narrower shape and enhanced interior padding compared to the standard ’07 build, seamlessly blending heritage storytelling with modern comfort.
