Apple TV+ Releases Trailer for New Film 'Palmer' Starring Justin Timberlake
The Fisher Stevens-directed film is dropping exclusively on Apple TV+ next month.
After his voice starred as Branch in the animated movie Trolls World Tour earlier this year, Justin Timberlake will be embarking on a new acting foray next month for a drama film entitled Palmer directed by Fisher Stevens.
As the protagonist, Timberlake returns to the screen as a former All-American collegiate football star named Eddie Palmer who tries to redefine his purpose in life after spending 12 years behind bars. As seen in the near-three minute emotional trailer here, Palmer returns to to his Louisiana home where he is welcomed in by his grandmother who is played by actress June Squibb as well as a little boy named Sam played by Ryder Allen. Sam, who had been abandoned by his mother, struggles with being bullied by his peers in school, as well as his gender identity, but Palmer gradually finds refuge in becoming a mentor for him. For reasons not yet known, Timberlake is shown getting arrested, and ends up in court speaking on his promise and loyalty to protecting the boy.
For those interested in tuning in, Palmer will see its global debut on January 29 exclusively via Apple TV+.
