Footpatrol and Karhu Reinterpret The Legacy 96 Sneaker
The pair also called upon the services of streetwear designer Sasu Kauppi.
After its first collaborative release on the Fusion 2.0 sneaker in 2016, Footpatrol and Karhu have linked again for 2020 to rework the latter’s Legacy 96 silhouette. The pair also tapped the services of Finnish streetwear designer Sasu Kauppi. A former design director and head of menswear design at YEEZY, the Central Saint Martins graduate and founder of the label SSSU, links with the two brands for the first time.
Crafted using an array of premium materials, the Karhu x Footpatrol x SSSU Legacy 96 arrives in a “Paloma Grey” colorway. Hairy suede has been planted across the sneaker’s toe box, alongside reflective detailing, pigskin suede and textured overlays, while each collaborator’s logo on the heel completes the look.
The sneaker also boasts a specially designed “KARHU LOGO” by Kauppi, made using letters from all three brand logos. The logo is featured as embroidery on the toe box, on the woven tongue label and on the shoebox.
Arriving alongside the sneaker is a two-piece tracksuit based on an original from Kauppi’s SSSU label. Retaining the same relaxed fit, the sweatshirt is made up of varying shades of mid-heavy French Terry with branded taping on the sides.
The Karhu x Footpatrol x SSSU Legacy 96 and tracksuit will be launching on 17 October via the Footpatrol webstore.
