Jordan Brand‘s Air Jordan 1 FlyEase is all about accessibility — and its inclusive nature comes with plenty of style too, as indicated by this new “Hyper Royal” colorway. Offering a black, blue and white color scheme that’s part Air Jordan 1 “Royal” and part fragment design x Air Jordan 1, the “Hyper Royal” also boasts Nike, Inc’s adaptable FlyEase technology, enabling it to be put on and taken off with a single hand.
Uppers are built entirely of leather, with the black midfoot, collar and mudguard overlaid by blue heel pieces and collar flaps. A white toebox diverts from this black-and-blue build to add the aforementioned pop of fragment design-style flair, and the blue midfoot Swoosh is rimmed with thick piping. White midsoles and blue outsoles round off the color palatte.
From a fit standpoint, this Air Jordan 1‘s FlyEase system uses three pieces to ensure ease of entry and removal. The first of these is a zipper that starts directly under the stretchy elastic “laces” on the lateral midfoot and curls around to the heel. This lets the wearer either put on or remove the shoe, and a large Velcro strap that wraps around the collar works with the aforementioned elastic “laces” to provide a customizable fit.
The Air Jordan 1 FlyEase “Hyper Royal” is set to release via Nike Japan in the coming weeks, and is priced at a tax-included ¥15,400 JPY (approximately $147 USD).
