adidas is looking to the UltraBOOST line’s past and present in colorful fashion with a six-shoe pack of vivid takes on the UltraBOOST 20 and UltraBOOST DNA. Using a vibrant palette of red, teal, purple and neon yellow with stark black and white accents, the offerings acknowledge the UB’s place at the forefront of adidas Running while also nodding to the deep roots the line has set down in the adidas Originals lifestyle sphere.
Although the hues are undeniably boisterous, both UltraBOOST 20s take their performance seriously. Uppers feature adidas’s Tailored Fiber Placement technology for a “custom” fit, with solid midfoot cages and heel clips handling stability. Below this build, tuned BOOST midsoles ensure pillowy cushioning.
On the other end of the spectrum, the four UltraBOOST DNAs — a silhouette inspired by the OG UltraBOOST 1.0 — supply a classic look with cut-out midfoot cages and beefier heel clips. Although each is certainly up to a brisk jog, are all more geared towards lifestyle wear: one features segmented colorblocking while the other three look towards striped details. Three are men’s styles while one is a women’s makeup and, of course, each is finalized with a full-length BOOST midsole.
The adidas UltraBOOST 20 and UltraBOOST DNA multicolor collection will arrive on the adidas webstore come November 1. Each pair is priced at $180 USD.
