Nike Air Max Plus 3 Appears In Original "Pimento" Colorway
One of the Plus 3’s staple styles.

An early ’00s Nike Sportswear classic, the Air Max Plus 3 made a return to market last November, and now it’s continuing its run of re-releases with an original “Pimento” colorway. A style that’s notable for its use of bold orange/red hues and a signature gradient fade, the “Pimento” combines a warm color combination with plenty of bold details.
Mesh uppers start with a bright orange hue by the throat before gradually fading towards a more reddish shade above the midsole. Things quickly move from balmy to sweltering on the black plastic heel as well, thanks to plenty of hot crimson detailing. Heel and forefoot are seperated by a black leather midfoot overlay, while TN badges on the medial quarter and tongue offer signature branded flair, contrasting with the forefoot’s small red Swoosh and the heel’s “Max Air” stamp.
A high-gloss black toebox gives off an air of speed, with the midsole splitting its Air Max cushioning between a single large, clear unit in the back and two smaller, seperate orange units towards the front. These reddish-orange tints are no stranger to proponents of the Air Max line: they were introduced on 1998’s Air Max Plus “Sunset,” and are still in use today on silhouettes like the Air Max 720. However, the Plus 3 interprets the familiar style in a vastly different fashion, thanks to its highly technical construction — one that has stood the test of time and still looks futuristic today.
The Nike Air Max Plus 3 “Pimento” is available now via Nike’s webstore. The MSRP is set at $190 USD.
Air Max fans will undoubtedly be glad to know that the Air Max 90 is returning in several classic styles for its 20th anniversary this year as well.
